Continuing Education Requirements
The State of Florida has mandated that every licensed contractor earn 14 hours of continuing education credit during a two-year license cycle. August 31 - even years is the deadline for certified contractors (CCC). August 31 - odd years is the deadline for registered contractors (RC). Six of the 14 hours are mandatory: 1.0 hour workplace safety training (WPS), 1.0 hour of workers' compensation (WC), 1.0 hour of business practice training (BSP), 1.0 of advanced code (ADV), 1.0 hour in laws & rules (L&R) and 1.0 hour in wind mitigation (WMM). Hours cannot be carried over into the next two-year cycle. Inactive license holders must also acquire continuing education credits in order to activate their license. Visit DBPR's webpage www.myfloridalicense.com for additional information. See calendar for upcoming seminars and dates.
