Field Technician 7-21-25


Description

The Field Technician is responsible for measuring roofs and conducting inspections for warranty authorization and claims. The ideal candidate will ensure that all measurements and inspections meet company standards and contribute to a smooth warranty process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Accurately measure roofs for warranty-related projects, ensuring precise dimensions for documentation and future reference.
Perform inspections to assess the weather-tightness and overall condition of metal roofs. Ensure that installations comply with warranty terms and industry standards.
Evaluate roofs for potential warranty claims, identifying any issues or defects that may qualify for repair or replacement under warranty coverage.
Assist customers in measuring roofs when needed, providing clear guidance and ensuring accurate results.
Maintain detailed records of measurements, inspections, and findings. Complete all required forms and reports to support warranty claims.
Follow quality service standards and comply with all relevant procedures, rules, and regulations.
Work closely with supervisors, coworkers, and customers to ensure clarity and transparency throughout the inspection and measurement process.
Travel to various job sites as required. Overnight travel may be necessary depending on project locations.
Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and fall protection systems.

Skills

Familiarity with construction environments and metal roofing systems. Experience in roof measurement and inspection is preferred.
Ability to accurately measure roofs and document findings. Proficiency in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Willingness to take on special projects as assigned.
Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving and safety record.
Certifications in first aid, CPR, and other relevant safety training are a plus.
Strong verbal communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
Ability to identify and assess roofing issues independently and make informed recommendations.
Experience with warranty claims and the inspection process.
Knowledge of different types of metal roofing materials and their performance characteristics.
Experience with documenting and reporting for warranty purposes.
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Must be comfortable working at heights and on sloped surfaces.
Ability to work extended hours may be required to meet project deadlines.
