OSHA 10-Hour Training for Construction

OSHA 10-Hour training for construction teaches recognition, avoidance, abatement and prevention of safety and health hazards in workplaces. This course also provides information on workers’ rights, employer responsibilities, an introduction to OSHA, fall  protection, ladders and scaffolding, project documentation, supervisory techniques and OSHA Focus Four Construction Hazards. It was also designed to help workers stay up-to-date with their OSHA safety requirements and is suitable for workers, supervisors and management. Students who complete the class successfully will receive the OSHA 10-Hour Card. (CILB – 0611293 meets 1.0 hour WPS and 9.0 G credit)

The course is two days. Cost per person $120
FRSA-SIF members receive one FREE registration.

Lead Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) 8 Hour Training
March 7, 2018, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

The EPA requires an eight (8) hour pass/fail course. A photograph is also required for certification and is taken at class. All information is forwarded to EPA.  Certifications are normally generated within a few days. All certification fees are included.
Cost: $225 per person


4 Hour Lead Recertification Course
March 8, 2018, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Refresher Training is required every five (5) years for those with a Lead Renovation Repair and Painting (RRP) certification. You need to take the four hour refresher course prior to your initial expiration date or you will be required to retake an eight hour course. Once the re-certification course is completed you will be re-certified for five years from the date of the refresher training. This course is approved for four (4) hours of continuing education by the Construction Industry Licensing Board. Florida Certified and Registered contractors will receive one (1) hour of safety and three (3) hours of general credit at the end of the course. AAA Construction School, DBPR-CILB Provider #0000972 and course approval number CILB-0610536.

Cost: $139 per person.


Two-Day Asbestos Competent Person and Onsite Roofing Supervisor Course
April 5-6, 2018

April 5-6: Competent Person Training - Approved for 16 hours of C.E. credit and meets safety and business practice requirements CILB-0000041, CILB-0000042
Cost: FRSA members—$250/ Nonmember—$295

April 6: Worker or Refresher Training - Approved for 8 hours of C.E. credit and meets safety and business practice requirements CILB-0000042
Cost: FRSA members—$130/ Nonmember—$150

Seminar Cancellation Policy:

FRSA understands circumstances may arise that require you to cancel your seminar registration. If you cancel up to 7 business days before an event, your registration fee will be refunded. If your cancellation is received 7 business days or less before an event, you may send another person in your place or receive a credit voucher that can be applied toward any FRSA program during the next 12 months (convention seminars excluded). Registrants who do not cancel before the seminar or do not attend are liable for the entire registration fee. All cancellations must be in writing. FRSA reserves the right to cancel any programs. If such a cancellation is necessary, registrants will be notified and an attempt will be made to reschedule or make alternative arrangements. Registrants will receive a full tuition refund for the program. FRSA is not responsible for other costs incurred. The registration fee is due and payable before the start of a seminar.

Continuing Education Requirements
The State of Florida has mandated that every licensed contractor earn 14 hours of continuing education credit during a two-year license cycle. August 31 - even years is the deadline for certified contractors (CCC). August 31 - odd years is the deadline for registered contractors (RC). Six of the 14 hours are mandatory: 1.0 hour workplace safety training (WPS), 1.0 hour of workers' compensation (WC), 1.0 hour of business practice training (BSP), 1.0 of advanced code (ADV), 1.0 hour in laws & rules (L&R) and 1.0 hour in wind mitigation (WMM). Hours cannot be carried over into the next two-year cycle. Inactive license holders must also acquire continuing education credits in order to activate their license.
