FRSA and the Tile Roofing Institute (TRI) have been working together to revise the current roof tile manual (4th Edition of the FRSA/TRI Concrete and Clay Roof Tile Manual) to help improve the performance of tile roofs, and simplify the structure of the current manual. The Fourth Edition is listed in the Florida Building Code under Chapter 9 Residential and Chapter 15 Building. The primary product-related change is a recommendation that all self-adhered cap sheet products meet specific test standards established by the joint Roof Tile committee. Manufacturers that complied with the committees' request and provided written verification that their products would meet or exceed the new FRSA/TRI roof tile manual and criteria for inclusion on the list of recommended underlayments. Beginning on February 14, 2011, the Technical Brief (see below) will go into effect. Detailed criteria provided from each manufacturer can be found below and on the TRI website, www.tileroofing.org.
